Educator's Express

With our focus on people and living traditions, combined with an active participation in the local culture, it's no wonder that educators have always been great clients for our Immersive Journeys to Latin America.  

Now, Culture Xplorers has created an educational travel experience exclusively for teachers called Educators' Express .   This signature program combines the best of our immersive adventures with peer-to-peer teacher social exchanges, host family stays, school visits and discussions led by local experts on education and immigration issues.  

Teaching Tools for the 21 st Century Classroom

We've created our Educators' Express program for educators teaching in a more global classroom environment or who simply want to broaden their cross-cultural skills and understanding while having the travel adventure of a lifetime.

After participating on an Educators Express journey, teachers return to their classroom with a greater understanding of the challenges global students face when coming to the US, as well as teaching tools to help their US students broaden their cultural horizons.

Educators' Express Signature Experiences

• Peer-to-peer educational exchange and picnic with local teachers from Oaxaca
• Visit to a local school
• Share lodging and meals for three days with a middle class, local host family
• Two education lectures to help teachers better understand the challenges that new, global students (especially Mexican) face in the U.S.
      1) The educational system in Mexico
      2) Emigration: its causes and consequences
• Teacher teams scavenger hunt
• Cultural myths vs. reality roundtable
• Participate in a local fiesta in Juchitan (no guarantee, but frequently happens)
• Visit to a natural cosmetics project to learn about conservation efforts in the Pacific Beach resort of Huatulco
• Intimate group size - limited to a maximum of 12 educators (minimum 8)

Optional Spanish Language and Culture Classes

Our Educators' Express program also offers an optional week of Spanish language and culture classes for all levels of language proficiency.

Professional Development Funds

Many schools allow participating teachers to use their annual professional development funds to subsidize the cost of our travel program.
