		Rafael A local painter in San Angel, Mexico City.

CX: Where did you learn your dramatic style? Rafael: I am self-taught. Also, it is a tradition in my family. My mother and father are painters as well.

CX: The technique has energy and a feeling of tension. Rafael: I like to work with the human anatomy and tell the story behind the figure: when there is joy, pain, weariness. I start with a base of realism, an academic style, then make it my own, reflecting the action and freezing the image.
