How long have you been
climbing, Marcelo?
Marcelo: Well,
I started when I was 13
and I am 37 now, so around
24 years.
CX: When we were speaking earlier,
you mentioned a really
unique way that you
practice your
climbing skills when you can't
go outside?
Marcelo:
Well, we put
a little climbing
wall in the biggest bedroom
of the house. It's
our baby!
CX: Your wife Monica
also climbs?
Marcelo:
Yes, a lot. She has been
Brazilian
champion many times.
We practice together.
CX: What would you tell
first time visitors
to Rio?
Marcelo: It's a
very
safe and very nice
place if you don't carry
too
many things on you.
CX: (interrupting and
laughing) ...like
mini-disc recorders and
cameras?
Marcelo:
(laughing) ...yeah,
nice cameras like
yours! And if you
don't try to
act like Steven Seagal,
it's a pretty safe
place.
