Genuine cultural travel has been an integral part of our lives ever since the fall of the Iron Curtain in 1990 on our first trip through Eastern Europe. Intense hunger during a night-time drive through rural Romania and a local wedding celebration were the forces which drew us together for an unforgettable evening with a French speaking chef, an English speaking waiter, six ruddy Romanian kitchen staff and of course, the somewhat surprised wedding party and guests!

Ever since, the desire to share more such wonderful experiences has fueled our passion for travel. Having lived in six countries and traveled in over 50 more on six continents, we have met many unforgettable people over the last decade.

Although many travel companies offer the possibility to see beautiful lands, we felt that there were too few opportunities to make real connections with the unique people in the regions being visited. CULTURE XPLORERS was founded with that in mind.
